UWC is the only global educational movement that brings together students from all over the world – selected on personal merit, irrespective of race, religion, politics and the ability to pay – with the explicit aim of fostering peace and international understanding.

In order to contribute to this mission, UWC Germany will organize another Short Course near Freiburg in sumer 2012. 45 young students from 19 countries will come together to explore the theme of: 'Taking responsibility: reducing my footprint on the world". 

In August 2009. 60 young students from all over Europe came together to start "Shaping Society! during the Short Course" They got to know examples of youth initiatives that inspire, took action through Community Service and developed skills for an effective engagement with society. In addition, they made friends from all over Europe, having built a network that can support future initiatives.
